New York has been acknowledged to be the origin of the asbestos industry. In 1858, Johns-Manville Corporate began to mine vermiculite for asbestos insulation. Over a century later New York has the fifth highest number of asbestos related deaths in the United States. The Brooklyn Naval Yard and the GMD Shipyard located in New York have been the cause of many cases of mesothelioma and asbestos related diseases.
NY Mesothelioma Lawyers has their finger on the pulse of what is happening in the state of New York when it comes to mesothelioma and asbestos. New York is one of the friendliest states when it comes to obtaining financial restitution from asbestos exposure. New York politicians have created laws that regulate and protect individuals from asbestos exposure. These NY laws also force businesses to defend the reasons of why they used asbestos and risking the lives of their employees.
"On behalf of myself and my family, we want to sincerely thank you for all your efforts and success on our behalf. The experience helped us to better understand Syd's condition. We were so lucky to have you on our side. There aren't enough words to express our appreciation for your kindness and consideration for us. Truly, you made us feel special. You are a great team. May all of you continue to be blessed each and every day. You can't lose. You have the Lord on your side."
"Just received a very nice check and wanted you to know how much it and all the others were appreciated. It's been almost 3 years since Bill's passing, so thank you also for all your comforting awards in the past when I called - as well as listening. Time does a lot of healing, but I still miss his presence every day."
"Thank you so much for the lovely plant you sent me in remembrance of our Sal. We're still in shock over Sal's sudden passing, but somehow we are getting inner strength through the comfort and support of very special people like all of you. May Sal's memory be eternal."

NEW YORK ASBESTOS & MESOTHELIOMA
9/11 and Asbestos
During the time the World Trade Center was constructed, asbestos was a widely used building material. Asbestos products like insulation, drywall, steel and fireproofing materials were used in construction. They estimate that over 400 tons of asbestos was used to build the World Trade Center. On September 11, 2001, the World Trade Center collapsed and tons of asbestos debris and dust were released into the New York City streets. Scientists estimate that almost 500,000 people were exposed to asbestos during rescue and clean-up efforts.
In 1806, the Brooklyn Naval Yard became an active naval installation, but it really boomed during pre-WWII naval build up. During the WWII dates people were readily exposed to asbestos. Foundrymen wore protective gear that contained asbestos and in the mixing room workers handled asbestos all day long. There were 19 different trades at the Brooklyn Naval Shipping Yard in New York that exposed people to asbestos. Our NY navy men and women were exposed to asbestos for decades at the Brooklyn Naval Ship Yard.
New Yorkers who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma most likely were exposed to asbestos on their job. Those that worked in the NY shipyards, NY metal workers and NY power plants were the highest at risk NY workers. After 9/11, we are also seeing that first responders and clean up workers were exposed to asbestos. We at NY Mesothelioma Lawyers want you to realize that we are here to support and help you answer all of your questions when it comes to mesothelioma and how you can get assistance in New York.
